Development of Small and Medium Enterprises to Be Discussed at the 2nd Saratov Economic Forum

Within the framework of the 2nd Saratov Economic Forum, the platform “SME Growth Points: New Approaches to Development through the National Project” will function, which will be dedicated to practical issues of implementing the federal projects “Improvement of Business Environment”, “Popularization”, “Acceleration”, “Financial Support” in the regions. The discussion will focus on topical issues and problems of involvement in business, creation and development of small and medium enterprises, their support. It is also planned to consider the MFC (Multifunctional Centre for Provision of State and Municipal Services) as a tool to support the businesses.

“The platform objective is to build a dialogue between the government and businesses in terms of discussing particular problems that are currently being considered at the federal or regional levels. Such problems include, first of all, excessive regulatory requirements, the so-called “regulatory guillotine”, support of self-employed, as well as the fight against illegal entrepreneurship. Within the framework of the platform, we will accumulate and consolidate the best practices of our colleagues and experts to solve the issues raised in the most efficient way”, — Yulia Shvakova, the Minister of Economic Development of the region, said.

High-ranking representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, representatives of Russian corporations top management, banks and public organizations are invited as speakers of the platform. In the discussion format, the practical experience in implementing the national project “Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and Support of Individual Entrepreneurship Initiatives” in the region will be shared by the heads of the region’s business support infrastructure, regional public associations, as well as by the heads of credit organizations, and, which is the most important, by the entrepreneurs who take part in the project.

Based on the results of the platform work, it is planned to develop modernization programs for small and medium-sized businesses and to conclude a number of cooperation agreements. The results of the Upgrade Laboratory will be used to prepare draft regulatory legal acts aimed at improving the business environment.
